About Us
The St. Louis Research Practice Partnership is a collaborative effort between area researchers and St. Louis regional school leaders to respond to the needs of students and educators using rigorous research.
Our mission is to conduct rigorous research for and with educators to inform policies and practices that foster systemic improvements that lead to educational, social, and emotional growth for students in STL schools. We do this by creating collaborations between researchers and practitioners and conducting rigorous research for practice.
Our Beliefs:
-
All RPP stakeholders are encouraged to participate as their whole selves and real selves to offer authentic feedback, opinions, and ideas to move the work of the RPP forward and achieve its strategic goals.
-
The RPP encourages freedom of thought, creativity, and healthy skepticism in designing research, interpreting results, and developing solutions. Whenever possible, the RPP generates an array of possibilities or approaches, realizing that even these are not mutually exclusive.
-
The RPP welcomes difficulty and obstacles seemingly impossible to overcome. All RPP stakeholders are encouraged to communicate openly and honestly about challenges and collaborate with other stakeholders to address them.
-
The purpose of the RPP is to improve the policy and practice of education. Education practitioners, people who have student-facing roles, should be engaged at every stage of the RPP process.
